And When I Awoke, I Was Alone, This Bird Had Flown

Day 02-Your Favorite Beatles Song

That's a tough one, because they all are so great. Normally I would say "Let It Be", but I think instead I'll go with my VERY close second favorite "Norwegian Wood (This Bird Has Flown)". I love this song because it's one of the very first Beatles songs I remember hearing as a kid when I got my very first stereo. I've always just loved the far off, mysterious and mystic sound of the guitars on this track coupled with the sitar. Its always enchanted me for as long as I can remember, there's just something so far out and mystic that I love.

Don't Forget Me, Martha My Dear

Today's Beatles Song of the day is: "Martha My Dear"

Martha my dear
Though I spend my days in conversation
Please
Remember me Martha my love
Don't forget me Martha my dear

Hold your head up you silly girl
Look what you've done
When you find yourself in the thick of it
Help yourself to a bit of what is all around you
Silly girl

Take a good look around you
Take a look you're bound to see
That you and me were meant to be for each other
Silly Girl

Hold your hand out you silly girl
See what you've done
When you find yourself in the thick of it
Help yourself to a bit of what is all around you
Silly Girl

Martha my dear
You have always been my inspiration
Please
Be good to me Martha my love
Don't forget me Martha my dear

This track comes from the White Album, and was written by Paul McCartney who was the only Beatle to appear on the track. The name Martha was taken from McCartney's English sheep dog who was also named Martha. The inspiration for the lyrics has been speculated to be Jane Asher .

I have had enough, so act your age

Today's Beatles song of the day is...
"You Won't See Me"

When I call you up
Your line's engaged
I have had enough
So act your age

We have lost the time
That was so hard to find
And I will loose my mind
If you won't see me

I don't know why you
Should want to hide
But I can't get through
My hands are tied

I won't want to stay
I don't have much to say
But I can turn away
And you won't see me

Time after time you refuse to even listen
I wouldn't mind if I knew what I was missing

Though the days are few
They're filled with tears
And since I lost you
It feels like years

Yes it seems so long
Girl since you've been gone
I just can't go on
If you won't see me

This track comes from the Album "Rubber Soul" and was inspired by Paul McCartney's relationship with Jane Asher, who was not returning his calls and just flat out ignoring him. It's one of the few Beatles songs where Paul actually sings the lower harmony.

The Jailer Man, And Sailor Sam, Will Search Forever More For The Band On The Run

I apologize very profusely for my absence! The summer has just been so crazy! But no longer will I neglect the blog, so let's get on with things...
PAUL MCCARTNEY HAD A BIRTHDAY ON JUNE 18TH. And I neglected to celebrate it, so HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY to Sir. Paul McCartney!
